Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Embark on an enchanting Halong Bay journey as you acquaint yourself with the amenities on board our vessel. Witness the breath-taking scenery from the sun deck during our initial hours of cruising. Our first destination is Cua Van, a floating fishing villages in Halong Bay, which some fishermen still use as a base for their fishing and aquacultural activities. Glide through this serene area in a small bamboo boat rowed by locals, offering a glimpse into the village and understand how once whole families use to life on water here. For the more active ones, take a kayak and paddle around the floating hamlet for a very personal exploration (complimentary).
Next, we transfer by tender to Tien Ong cave, providing evidence of human civilization dating back to 10,000 – 8,000 BC. This small cave provides some fascinating understandings of Halong Bay’s geological history. Returning to the ship, we sail to the overnight mooring area, where the "blue hour" unveils Halong Bay’s magical beauty. Relax on the sun deck with your favourite drink, absorbing the tranquil moment. Engage in a cooking class with our chef, practicing classic Vietnamese recipes to impress your loved ones at home later.
As evening descends, a multi-course à la carte dinner is served. If you like, join in later for an on-board presentation about the bay’s unique features and secrets. Alternatively, try your hand at squid fishing with our staff for a delightful and entertaining experience. Spend the rest of the evening embracing the magical landscapes in the heart of Halong Bay, where once upon a time, sparkling jewels cascaded from heavenly dragons.

Day 2: Halong Bay - Titop Island - Hanoi

Transfer: Cruise, Car
Activities: Tai Chi Class, Visit natural white sandy stretch of a beach, Climb up to a hill top of a mountain, Get back to Violet Cruise, Have a full breakfast and Drive back to Hanoi
Meals: Breakfast
For early risers, tea, coffee and pastries are available in the dining room and a Tai Chi class is offered on the sun deck to awaken your mind and muscles.
We set sail to the small "Ti Top Island". Formerly named Cat Nang, the island received a name change after former president Ho Chi Minh and the second man to orbit the Earth, Russian astronaut ‘GhermanTitov’, toured Halong Bay together in 1962. Since the cosmonaut was so fascinated with this picturesque islet, Uncle Ho would rename the island to honour Mr. Titov and as a gesture of friendship between their two countries.
Once arriving at Ti Top, you can go for a refreshing morning swim on a sandy beach or – if you prefer to be more active – climb 400 steps (20 min.) to the island’s top with stunning, panoramic views over the bay. Back on board, you can take a shower and freshen up. Enjoy the final moments of sailing as we head back to the harbour while breakfast is served. Relax on the sun deck or while savouring the last views of this iconic site.

Day 1: Halong Bay - Bai Tu Long bay

Transfer: Cruise
Activities: Get on board, kayak, relax on boat
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
To begin, the Heritage Line team welcomes you at the marina lounge before you embark on an enchanting journey into the tranquil waters of Bai Tu Long which lies to the east of Halong Bay area.
As you make yourself comfortable with suite and the onboard facilities, the Heritage Line ‘Violet’ will start to leave the harbour, sailing deeper into Bai Tu Long. Join us on the deck for an enjoyable gathering with our cruise director to toast to a wonderful journey ahead. With the skyline of Halong City visible to port and the striking limestone karsts of Halong Bay to starboard, enjoy lunch while cruising through this breathtaking seascape.
Once finished, there will be time to kick back until the early afternoon. Enjoy the views from the deck or your private balcony, have a refreshing and strong Vietnamese coffee and just let the time roll by. During a short presentation, you’ll have the chance to understand more about this region, including Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long. Both share the same waters and yet they are defined by different legends.
In the mid-afternoon, there will be time for some active exploration of the quietest part of the bay. The best way to experience the rhythm of this place is by kayak—gliding through calm waters, passing towering cliffs and rocky outcrops, while our guide offers insight into the unique features of the bay.
The ship will then sail a bit further to anchor at a quiet spot for the night. During the blue hour, the bay showcases its most cinematic charms. As evening descends, a multi-course à la carte dinner awaits in the restaurant with some light evening activities offered on a voluntary basis (squid fishing, sun deck meditation, board games). Finally, enjoy a deep sleep on your first night in Bai Tu Long- where, legend has it, dragons once came to rest.

Day 2: Bai Tu Long bay - Thien Canh Son cave - Vung Vieng Fishing village

Transfer: Cruise
Activities: explore Thien Canh Son, Vung Vieng Floating fishing village, Cooking Class
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early risers will be greeted with freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries. Afterwards, ease into the morning with a Tai Chi session on the deck or some early morning meditation on a nearby islet. Before the first excursion, a full breakfast is served at the restaurant.

After breakfast, set out to explore the so-called ‘Thien Canh Son’ Cave. After a soft climb (ca. 100 steps) a spectacular panoramic view awaits. Inside the cave, the whole pre-historic geological era unfolds. You can see stalactites like intricate chandeliers, and witness stalagmites growing from the floor resembling blooming flowers. An ancient magic atmosphere pervades that is unique to the region. Later, the cruise will halt at a floating fishing village (named Vung Vieng) that lies near the heart of the Bai Tu Long. Here, local residents work on floating fish farms, a livelihood passed down through generations. A local host will introduce you to their daily life and duties, offering a glimpse into this resilient and resourceful community.

Back on board, lunch is served as the ship makes its way back to the west for an enjoyable late afternoon event. Post-lunch, the crew offers some entertaining workshops onboard. With our first atelier, explore a defining tradition of the bay, the art of pearl cultivation. Observe the precise process of opening oysters and see how pearls are formed, while gaining insights into a craft that has shaped local life for generations. Otherwise, take part in a coffee workshop to get behind the secret of making traditional "Phin filter coffee" with the opportunity to try different Vietnamese coffee blends.

You may also like to opt for a spa treatment before we reach a secluded beach for our late afternoon lifestyle activities. Come barefoot, bring some swimwear and prepare to relax. You can jump into the water, enjoy some sundowner drinks with canapés, socialize or just sit back to enjoy a private moment as the magical light descends once more.

Enjoy your last dinner aboard with evening activities offered again on a voluntary basis.

Day 3: Bai Tu Long bay - Halong Bay

Transfer: Cruise, Car
Activities: Tai Chi Class, enjoy the final hours whilst sailing back to shore taking your breakfast in the restaurant

For early birds, we have early morning coffee, pastries and a refreshing Tai Chi session again in the morning. Otherwise, you may sleep a little bit longer this morning while the ship sets sail toward the marina. On the way back to the marine sailing the Halong Bay waters, you can enjoy the final hours whilst sailing back to shore taking your breakfast in the restaurant or on the deck savouring the view of the bay.
